The District Governor working with the District Awards Committee will present awards and recognition from Rotary International, the District and Zone 34 during the District Conference luncheon in Atlanta on June 9, 2017 prior to the Rotary International Convention. Foundation Awards are made during the August 15 Seminar.
 

ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENTIAL CITATION

The RI Presidential Citation is determined by data input into Rotary Club Central by the President and recorded by Rotary International by June 30, 2017, which means data should be entered at least a week ahead of that deadline.
 

DISTRICT PREMIER AND PLATINUM PREMIER CLUB AWARDS

District Premier and Platinum Premier Club Award applications available on this website are submitted electronically by the club president to District Awards Chair Karen Weiss (awards@rotary6970.org) by April 30, 2017. Premier Club and Platinum Premier Club are detailed within each category below. 

MEMBERSHIP AWARDS

Clubs are also recognized for membership (based on data submitted to RI) in both the small club (50 members or less) and large club (more than 50 members) categories. While no application is required, your membership information must be correct in Rotary Club Central. Membership awards will be based on information in Rotary Club Central on May 5, 2017 to qualify for the following awards:

  • Percentage retention (determined from information in Rotary Club Central)
  • Percentage Membership growth (determined from information in Rotary Club Central)
  • Net Membership Growth (determined from information in Rotary Club Central)
     

ZONE 34 PUBLIC IMAGE AWARDS

Public Image Awards are submitted electronically to Zone 34 Public Image Coordinator Betsy Owen (pdgbetsyowen@gmail.com) by March 31, 2017.
 

ROTARY FOUNDATION AWARDS

Rotary Foundation Awards are made at the Foundation, Membership, Public Image and New Generations Seminar in August 2017 for the 2016-2017 year. These awards are based on Foundation and PolioPlus contributions submitted to and recorded by Rotary International before June 30, 2017. The following awards are also in both the small club and large club categories:

  • Percentage Benefactor/Bequest Increase
  • Net Benefactor/Bequest Increase
  • Gross Annual Giving by Club
  • Per Capita Annual Giving by Club
  • Total Giving by Club  (Annual, Restricted, and Permanent)
  • Per Capita Total Giving by Club (Annual, Restricted and Permanent)
  • Total PolioPlus Giving by Club
  • Per Capita PolioPlus Giving by Club

Qualifying Requirements

Your Rotary, Rotaract, or Interact club can earn a Presidential Citation for achieving goals that strengthen Rotary and your club. Activities include growing your membership, developing sustainable service projects, giving to The Rotary Foundation, and building awareness of Rotary in your community.

Premier Club


Qualifying Requirements

To qualify for Premier Club Award, clubs must have completed the criteria to earn the 2016-17 RI Presidential Citation. While Rotary International allows clubs until June 30, 2017 to qualify for the Presidential Citation, if your club is interested in one of the District Awards you will need to have all criteria completed by April 30, 2017.

  1. Club has a Strategic Plan in place and club members are aware of it.
  2. Club has current classification list which is reviewed and updated regularly.

Platinum Premier Club


Qualifying Requirements

Qualifying for the Platinum Premier Club Award, requires completing the criteria to earn the 2016-17 RI Presidential Citation. While Rotary International allows clubs until June 30, 2017 to qualify for the Presidential Citation, if a club desires to achieve the Platinum level it needs to have all criteria completed by April 30, 2017.

Qualifying Requirements

The District Foundation awards and recognitions are made at the Foundation Seminar in August and clubs are not required to submit an application, however, all contributions must be submitted to Rotary International before June 30, 2016.

Clubs should make sure the current Polio contributions are received by Rotary International no later than June 30, 2016.

  • Percentage Benefactor/Bequest Increase (from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016) 
  • Net Benefactor/Bequest Increase (from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016) 
  • Gross Annual Giving Club (from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016)

Qualifying Requirements

Each club must complete three (3) REQUIRED activities and two (2) out of seven additional activities by March 31, 2017.

REQUIRED ACTIVITIES

  • Develop a club Public Relations plan and submit it to your District Public Image Chair.
  • Define your club’s signature activity, event, fundraiser, project and promote it to the public and Rotary Club Central
  • Organize an event that results in significant media coverage, that engages your members and offers the opportunity to promote your club and The Rotary Foundation Centennial. Submit a report of your event with examples of media coverage to your District Public Image Chair.
