Premier Club


Qualifying Requirements

To qualify for Premier Club Award, clubs must have completed the criteria to earn the 2016-17 RI Presidential Citation. While Rotary International allows clubs until June 30, 2017 to qualify for the Presidential Citation, if your club is interested in one of the District Awards you will need to have all criteria completed by April 30, 2017.

In addition to the Presidential Citation, the following criteria must be met to qualify for a Premier:

  1. Club has a Strategic Plan in place and club members are aware of it.
  2. Club has current classification list which is reviewed and updated regularly.

MEMBERSHIP Requirement for Premier Club Award

  1. Achieve a net gain in membership of one for small clubs or two for large clubs.
  2. Improve the membership retention rate by at least 1% from last year or maintain 100% retention.
  3. Have a membership retention rate of at least 90% or, if it is lower than that, achieves the net growth as above.
  4. Have a weekly printed or online bulletin.
  5. Have a directory of members that is accessible by members.
  6. Maintain good communications with the AG and DG (as reported by the AG in Club Central).
  7. Have at least 5% of all club members receive the All Star Rotarian award

DISTRICT PARTICIPATION Requirement for Premier Club Award

  1. Submit all RI and District dues on time in July and January.
  2. Have 3 members (for small clubs) or 5 members (for large clubs) attend the District Assembly in 2017.
  3. Have 3 members (for small clubs) or 5 members (for large clubs) attend the Rotary Serving Humanity Seminar in August, 2016.
  4. Have 5% of your club membership* registered for District Conference in June 2017.*
  5. Have 10% of your membership* registered for the RI Convention in Atlanta in June 2017.*

*The entire Family of Rotary qualifies (Rotary member, Rotary partner, children, grandchildren, etc.).

FOUNDATION Requirement for Premier Club Award

  1. The program for at least one of your club meetings in November featured the Foundation
  2. Donate at least $536 to the Foundation.
  3. Increase number of Paul Harris Fellows by 5% or maintain 100% Paul Harris Fellow club status.
  4. Have all Club members as Paul Harris Sustaining Members.
  5. Have all Club members donate at least $100 to the Foundation.
  6. Donate at least $2,650 to PolioPlus in honor of the Foundation’s Centennial.
  7. Increase the total number of Benefactors by at least one.

ONLINE TOOL ADOPTION Requirement for Premier Club Award

  1. Set at least 10 goals in Rotary Club Central.
  2. Have at least two Club members participate in Discussion Groups in My Rotary.
  3. Have at least 50% of members identify their skills and interest in their My Rotary profiles and have that section unlocked for visibility.

HUMANITARIAN SERVICE Requirement for Premier Club Award

  1. Have a project, fundraiser, or joint club meeting with another club.
  2. Have a defined and documented local Community Service Project
  3. Participate in an International Community Service Project (lead or partner).
  4. Participate in a Rotary has Heart Project
  5. Have at least one club member attend the Grant Management Seminar.

NEW GENERATIONS Requirements for Premier Club Award

Do at least two of the following:

  1. Currently sponsor or co-sponsor an EarlyAct, Interact, or Rotaract Club.
  2. Involve a New Generations club in a service project or fundraiser
  3. Sponsor a participant in RYLA and have them speak to your club after attending.

PUBLIC IMAGE Requirements for Premier Club Award

  1. Have a project covered by the local media.
  2. Have a club website or Facebook page that is updated regularly.
  3. Use the hashtag #RotaryAllStars and #Rotary6970 in all social media posts.

Qualifying Requirements

Your Rotary, Rotaract, or Interact club can earn a Presidential Citation for achieving goals that strengthen Rotary and your club. Activities include growing your membership, developing sustainable service projects, giving to The Rotary Foundation, and building awareness of Rotary in your community.

► 15 August 2017: Interact clubs' qualifications verified by a sponsor Rotary club president or district leader

Platinum Premier Club


Qualifying Requirements

Qualifying for the Platinum Premier Club Award, requires completing the criteria to earn the 2016-17 RI Presidential Citation. While Rotary International allows clubs until June 30, 2017 to qualify for the Presidential Citation, if a club desires to achieve the Platinum level it needs to have all criteria completed by April 30, 2017.

District Foundation Awards

District Foundation Award


Qualifying Requirements

The District Foundation awards and recognitions are made at the Foundation Seminar in August and clubs are not required to submit an application, however, all contributions must be submitted to Rotary International before June 30, 2016.

Clubs should make sure the current Polio contributions are received by Rotary International no later than June 30, 2016.

  • Percentage Benefactor/Bequest Increase (from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016) 
  • Net Benefactor/Bequest Increase (from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016) 
  • Gross Annual Giving Club (from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016)

Qualifying Requirements

Each club must complete three (3) REQUIRED activities and two (2) out of seven additional activities by March 31, 2017.

REQUIRED ACTIVITIES

  • Develop a club Public Relations plan and submit it to your District Public Image Chair.
  • Define your club’s signature activity, event, fundraiser, project and promote it to the public and Rotary Club Central
  • Organize an event that results in significant media coverage, that engages your members and offers the opportunity to promote your club and The Rotary Foundation Centennial. Submit a report of your event with examples of media coverage to your District Public Image Chair.
