LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD

Please let Your Voice be heard. Every three years, Rotarians meet at the Council on Legislation to review and vote on proposed changes to the legislation that governs Rotary. They consider enactments, which change Rotary’s governing documents, and position statements by the RI Board.

This coming April, I have the honor of representing our District and all of you at the 2019 Council. I will be voting on behalf of you and what you as the members of District 6970 find of value or on the other hand of no value to be a part of Rotary’s governing documents.

Should you wish to raise your voice, or if you’re simply curious, use the link below to view the near 400 pages of enactments. I don’t reference the 400 pages to deter you, but to offer the seriousness of this activity which occurs every three years. As you examine the proposals please keep in mind that they come from all over the Rotary World, our near 200 countries and territories and the 1.2 million members in our great organization. Something that may sound trivial, unusual or strange to us, is undoubtedly important to those proposing it. If there is an enactment you feel strongly about, one way or the other, please send me an email. I’ll be keeping a spreadsheet with any feedback our members provide. Naturally, if there are enactments that I receive no or very little feedback on, I will be voting with the best interests of our membership in mind. Please only send me the enactment reference number and your yes or no vote should you choose to do so. I will not have time to read nor evaluate lengthy responses to each of the enactments proposed.

Please share your thoughts via email to: art.macqueen13.14@gmail.com

Thanks in advance to all of our 3,300+ members.  Art
