Drop the mic and step away!

Congratulations to Rich and Marie Turnbull, our fantastic AGs and our NOW Immediate Past Presidents and the entire District leadership team for an amazing job guiding us through unprecedented times! I cannot express how proud I am to have served with all of you. My promise to you is that I will do all that I can to preserve the great work and progress you have made to advance our clubs and district over this past year.

We have the very good fortune to welcome our newest club to the district. Please join me in welcoming The Rotary Club of St. Augustine Sunset! Special thanks to PDGs Rich Turnbull and Russ Miller for seeing this through to the end. We are a better district with our newest club.

Rotarians, we have a great lineup for the new year. We have a great team of Presidents Area Governors and an amazing Lt. Governor in Carolyn Mudgette. In addition we have assembled crack teams to help our clubs make the most out their Rotary year in the areas of Membership, Foundation, increasing our Public Image, youth programs and many more. District 6970, we have the tools and talent to make this year the best Rotary year yet.

Looking forward to an exciting year of getting back together. Here are just a few of the opportunities coming up:

We are back to Rotary Leadership Institute in person. Next Institute will be held at the Palm Coast Campus of Daytona State College on August 28th.
We’ll be having a Vibrant Club Seminar coupled with a district conference on November 5th and 6th at World Golf Village
All of our PE’s can look forward to a being back in person at PETS in Orlando in March of 2022.
We are planning a District Assembly and Conference in early April.
We will be in Houston in June for the first in person International Convention in 3 years.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend surrounded by friends and family, and for those that are especially luck, maybe even a few other Rotarians. Please remember as we enjoy ourselves over the weekend, we are celebrating our freedom, there very thing that allows us to be Rotarians and serve others as we choose. Please keep in your minds and hearts those that have sacrificed and those that continue to sacrifice so that we can continue to be Rotarians, free to serve others.

Service Above Self,
