Minutarian Week 2: July 12, 2021

And, we’ve made it into week two of our Rotary year, congratulations to all.

As a district, we had the good fortune to for the most part, dodge any significant damage from hurricane Elsa last week. Unfortunately some of our Rotarian friends in the Northeast were not as lucky, we will certainly keep them in our thoughts.

Banners still on back order? I know many of you have not been able to obtain Rotary theme banners for this year yet. I have been in touch with Russell Hampton and these should start rolling in soon. Apparently many districts and clubs experienced a similar issue this year, causing a shortage.

Even if your club doesn’t have the banner yet, I would still encourage our district leaders to share the theme “Serving to Change Lives.” It’s a very impactful theme that reminds us that while we are changing the lives of so many in our communities and around the world, it’s often in-fact our own lives that changed the most.

A couple of reminders to share with the members in our clubs.

Knowledge is Power

Please encourage all to sign up for the next Rotary Leadership Institute, live and in person, in Palm Coast on August 28th. Members can register directly at https://www.rlitraining.org/course-information/course-schedule/  Scroll down to August 28th, click on “More Info” and follow the prompts. This is an excellent way to engage, retain, and inspire both new and long-time Rotarians.

GOALS!!!

Please remember to get your Foundation and Membership Goals entered into Rotary Club Central. If you need directions, see the attached file with easy step-by-step directions. AG’s please be vigilant in making sure your presidents accomplish this. If you need help, please contact District Trainer Marie Turnbull at marie.rotary6970@gmail.com or (904) 686-4212.

Houston we have lift off!

We will be in Houston next June 4th – 8th, live and in person for the Rotary International Convention, this should be a very well attended. There likely won’t be another convention this close for many years to come. Take advantage of early registration pricing now available.   https://convention.rotary.org/en

Yes, I’ll be there!

I hope to be able to join every club this year in some form or fashion. Many clubs have already reached out and scheduled me for a formal club visit or other social or service event. For those who have not, please reach out and let me know when you would like me to visit your club.  If you can give me 2 or 3 dates, I am sure to be able to make one.

Have a great Rotary week everybody!
