Minutarian Week 8, August 23, 2021

Haiti Update

Rotarians, we are now getting reports in that there are over 2,000 dead and injuries within the tens of thousands. In addition there is significant damage to infrastructure including power, water and medical facilities.

We have a PayPal link set up for the D6970 York Foundation (501c-3), for individuals to donate to directly. The District Leadership Team and the District 6970 Emergency & Disaster Relief Committee will be ensuring that these funds are distributed in a manner that will ensure effective aide to those that need it most.

Membership

Membership is as easy as 1-2-3!
THINK – Each member gets in the habit of thinking, for just 5 minutes each week, of a person who would be a good Rotarian.
ASK – Invite the visitor to your club’s social, service opportunity, or meeting. Make the invitation inviting. Phrase it so it comes across as something the person will want to attend!
FOLLOW UP – Ensure that club members connect with the visitor shortly after the initial exposure to your club, so the person feels welcomed, and if there is interest from both parties, ask that person to join!

And the 2023 to 2024 Rotary International President is……

Gordon R. McInally, a member of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry, Lothian, Scotland, is the selection of the Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International for 2023-24. He will be declared the president-nominee on 1 October if no challenging candidates have been suggested
